Oil spotlight: The benefits and uses of Frankincense

I like to think of Frankincense as the king of essential oils. It’s diverse benefits and uses make this wonder worker a must-have in every home.  Frankincense (or Frankie for fun!) is best known for promoting cellular health, supporting healthy immune function and beautifying your skin.

 

Here’s some of the amazing ways to work with and benefit from this essential oil:

 

Remove stress and uplift your mood

If you’ve had one of those stressful days, rubbing a few drops of Frankincense with a carrier oil onto the soles of your feet can help to reduce any unwanted feelings of stress. The beautiful aroma can help you to feel more relaxed, balanced and grounded. Also perfect after a long day gardening or exercising!

 

Start your day with intention and focus

One of my favourite ways to start a productive day ahead is by adding frankincense into my diffuser. Frankincense has strong aromatic properties and can help bring feelings of peace, focus and intent to your day ahead. I also like to apply a few drops to my temples or the back of my neck to increase my focus – it’s the perfect office aroma!

 

Support healthy cellular function

One of the simplest ways to enjoy the ongoing benefits of Frankincense is with a daily veggie capsule of this magical oil. Add 1 – 2 drops to a capsule to support healthy cellular function and support your immune system.

 

Keep your skin glowing

Frankincense is well known for supporting healthy glowing skin. If you’re experiencing dry skin, adding a couple of drops to your favourite moisturiser can deepen the hydration and help to rejuvenate your skin. It also works wonders mixed as a face mask for glowing skin or as a serum to use after shaving.

 

Promote a healthy immune system

Keeping your immune system in tip top shape is crucial to your overall health. I always pack Frankincense whenever I’m travelling and have a bottle on hand throughout the key rooms in our home. It can be a wonderful support to promote healthy immune, nervous and digestive function. Ensure you take 1 – 2 drops in a veggie capsule to support your body each day.
